WHAT I OFFER

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

I have a small online private practice.  Please contact me for further details.

I offer face to face therapy through Beacon House Therapeutic Services and Trauma Team

https://beaconhouse.org.uk/

In my clinical practice, I draw extensively on schema therapy but do work integratively to match the needs of clients.  As well as schema therapy, I draw on Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR); cognitive behavioural therapy, compassion focussed therapy,  and psychodynamic therapy.

I place significant value on the therapeutic relationship and works to build a trusting and collaborative relationship to provide a safe place to explore and understand difficulties. Depending on what brings someone to therapy, I may help a client work towards achievable goals to help make ‘here and now’ changes. Or, the therapy may be about working through issues from the past to enable the client to consider a different way of moving forward. Ultimately, I want to help my clients to free themselves from unhelpful patterns that keep them stuck and to make different choices moving forward.

SUPERVISION

I offer specialist supervision for accreditation in Schema Therapy, in addition to broader supervision of clinical practice within my area of specialism. I offer supervision to qualified therapists as well as counselling psychology trainees and those seeking accreditation as a schema therapist.

Within my clinical practice, I specialise in assessment and therapeutic intervention for adults who experience interpersonal challenges related to early years trauma and attachment adversity. I work with adults whose difficulties might be understood as Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Complex Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Dissociative Disorders.

My approach as a clinician is to work integratively, drawing largely on Schema Therapy but incorporating other therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) where appropriate, and applying this to the area of developmental trauma with a focus on relationship dynamics.

As a clinical supervisor, I am able to offer a safe space to supervisees which is reflective, open and supportive.  The supervision space will allow for both content and process and we will work together to meet your professional development needs. As a supervisor, I am passionate about Schema Therapy, skilled at distilling lots of complex information into a working formulation, particularly skilled in the area of application of schema therapy principles to very complex cases.
